I must admit. I was one of those people who protested the Memphis Pyriamid being bought by the Bass Pro Shops corporation. I grew up watching the Memphis Tigers play basket ball there. As a teacher, I attended numerous high school graduations there and even my own college graduation. Countless conerts and conventions have been held there. Heck! I even attended the castsing call for Black Snake Moan there! So yes, I had strong feelings against the Pyramid being turned into a super store for the outdoor enthusiast. My husband and my father-in-law absolutely love to hunt. I affectionalty call them hillbillies especially after I walked up on my father-in-law skinning a rabbit on his portch one day when I was picking up Londonrose. OMG!!! It took all I had not run screaming back to my car! Needless to say, those two (my husband and his aswesome daddy) were over the moon with joy at the announcement of Bass Pro Shops moving into the famous mirrored pyramid of Memphis, TN. The day after Thanksgiving, I decided to see what all the fuss was about. When Derrick came back from hunting rabbit with his father, I took him, Londonrose, and Alyanna to Bass Pro Shops to visit Santa's workshop (which was free by the way). I must admit, this was on cool looking shop! It reminds me of a wilderness growing inside. There is even a hotel here! The sign at the entrance says," Welcome to Paradise." Derrick, with his goofy grin plastered across his face, nods and says," It suuuuuuure is!" The real gem, however was the setup for Santa's workshop. The nice folks at Bass Pro Shops did an A M A Z I N G job settingup the photo station! Londonrose coundn't stop smiling. She told me later that she wanted SNOW for Christmas, lol. Lincoln Logs!!!!!! She lept from Sant'a knee and ran straight over to the Duck Hunting station. All I can say is OMG! She is definitely more like my husband than I care to admit, lol.
